On your property: usually no permit
If your roll-off dumpster sits entirely on private property — like your own driveway or lot — you typically don't need a permit anywhere in Miami-Dade. This covers the majority of home remodels and cleanouts.
On the street: permit likely required
If the container has to be placed on a public street, sidewalk, alley or right-of-way, most Miami-Dade municipalities require a right-of-way (ROW) permit, and some ask for reflective markers or barricades. Rules vary by city — Miami, Hialeah, Doral and unincorporated Miami-Dade each handle it a little differently.
